The $64,000 dollar question

Let me preface this inaugural post by asking you this question, do you know how many new blogs are created every day? I read somewhere it was around 88,000, yes you read that correctly EIGHTY-EIGHT THOUSAND new blogs EVERY day. So what in God’s name inspired me to jump into the black hole of endless posts of words, links and images?  Well it wasn’t boredom that’s for sure. After 8 years of having a an office and a title and a nice shiny corporate American Express card (I like shiny things), I decided it was time to call it quits. The signs were all there, yet I was so comfortable in my routine I wouldn’t leave. What I needed was a good hard shove out the ol’ nest and I got it, in the form of a pink slip.

So the BIG question I get asked all the time is ‘what are you going to blog about‘.  I usually look away for a minute, gather my thoughts, eventually shrug my shoulders and say  ”you know, I have no idea”.  Here we are DAY ONE of my blog and I still don’t know. Actually, this isn’t my first blog. My official entry into the blogosphere began back in 2005 when I decided to write about  my pregnancy (looking back I wish I would have put more clothes on for those weekly belly shots, ugh). Soon after my daughter’s arrival the blog quickly went to the waste side, I didn’t have time to shower let alone blog. Little did I know that blogs would quickly become one the of most popular forms of new media on the internet!

Fast forward four years, time still eludes me but I continue the search to find SOMETHING in my life that I can call my own. Anyone who knows me will tell you that given ‘the floor’ I tend to ramble on about things that I am PASSIONATE about. I get a little off track and random at times which could make for an interesting blog or it may cause you to go running out of the room with your hair on fire!  Either way I hope you like it. Its hard to narrow it down to just one thing when there are so many things I want to write and share.  In my heart  I know this project will evolve leading me where it needs to go and grow.  I want this to be GOOD. I want you to be INSPIRED. I want you to look to at my blog as a place where you can find a great recipe, a good book, useful organizing tips, decorative resources, online shopping secrets or maybe a photograph that takes you away long enough for you to forgot the stresses of your life … if only for a few minutes.

Bottom line I want you to come back.

Often.

Someone once said to me “JUMP! and the net will appear’.
