Last year for Mother’s Day I decided to buy myself a ‘me to me‘ gift. Does everyone do that? or am I the only one here. I knew my husband wouldn’t come up with this idea and honestly he is and never will be much of a cat lover. I on the other hand am. One thing in my life that brings me great comfort and happiness is my, I mean our cat Weebee. I know you are asking yourself what kind of name is Weebee, and frankly I’m not even sure how to spell Weebee correctly if there is such a thing. I won’t go into how we came up with that name but I will tell you that technically she is Weebee II, yes there actually was one before her.
You have seen her photos (sometimes weekly) here on the modchik, aside from my kids she is my muse. She is very finicky about being photographed. Rarely will she sit still long enough for me to capture the fine details of her Egyptian bloodlines. Here are some photos of her when I first took her home seven years ago. She was 6 weeks old.
She is the one meowing in the photo with her 2 brothers (bottom), she was one of 3. Â She comes from a long line of show cats. Weebee and I bonded right away can you see in the top right how she likes to have physical contact. She still does that from time to time but I assure you she is NOT a snuggle kitty… AT ALL.
I already have a gazillion pictures but what I really wanted was something  A few months back The Pioneer Woman shared a portrait of her beloved basset Charlie that was sent to her by the artist Rachael Rossman. I knew I HAD to have one to I placed my order and a few weeks later I received word that my custom portrait was on its way.  All I did was email her this photo and viola a few weeks later my portrait arrived on my doorstep.
This year Rachel is putting together a calendar featuring all her past commissioned work if you would like to preorder a copy you can pledge to make it happen at KickStarter.
