Last year I started out my December guns a blazing. I wanted to complete 2 things Picture the Holidays and Reverb 10. I was successful in only one and that’s because I usually have a camera in hand anyway. I didn’t regret not completing Reverb 10 (I made it to day 3) until I found out yesterday that is has since dissolved. I really like what Gwen Bell is doing now with her writing and often times I have contemplated the same graceful exit. Her blog is now delivered in the form of an email delivered only into your inbox and the discussion has moved over to her Google+ page. I wish Gwen and her Reverb partners @caligater and Kaileen continued growth as they expand on their own.
So what to do now? The final Reverb email suggested we all do our own Reverb project. I was so geared up to start, finish and complete Reverb 11 that I sat there reading the email somewhat deflated. Do you know that feeling?
As I searched twitter for #reverb11 I was happy to see that new Reverb groups are starting to crop up but to be honest I didn’t know most of the bloggers so I began to think about starting my own. Â So here we are. I am going to host my own branch of Reverb 11. Am I nuts, absolutely? Have I written all 31 prompts? Nope. Am I excited to get back to writing? Heck yeah.
Do I want company? You know it.
So here’s the deal. I promise to keep the prompts short and sweet, you will receive the prompt via email every night sometime after midnight. (SIGN UP HERE check the Reverb Box)  You’ll have the entire day, heck take the week if you want – ONLY DO WHAT YOU WANT TO – to post your response on your blog, your flickr stream, wherever! Come back and you will see MY DAILY RESPONSE and a link button so you can add yours to our list. I don’t mind if you just choose to read or respond personally in your journal, it really doesn’t matter. All that matters is that we support one another through the process because if you have ever participated in a month long prompt you know, it can wear on you. Its not easy but we can make it as easy as possible by keeping it simple.
Starting with my Reverb 11 button.
I gave myself 30 minutes to make one and 30 minutes to write todays intro post. I whipped out one of my polaroid cameras and took a photo of my old Corona typewriter. It makes me think about the simpler times when we didn’t have spell check and we took the time to write and rewrite and purposely bang out each letter one at a time.
I have made a square version if you would like to use it on your blog. You can either upload your own or copy and paste URL – please click here for images and URLs.
I am going to publish Day 1 in the next 30 minutes. I am looking forward to reading others so hopefully I won’t be left alone for very long talking to my cat.
Please don’t let me turn into the crazy cat lady.
Join me in Reverb 11 and pass it along.
