The backstory: My home office (which has since been featured on Room to Bloom) ) has undergone several metamorphoses. The room from which I sit here and blog has gone from a sitting room (aka junk room) to a baby room and back to an office. In order to get the office back I had to get the baby out and in order to move the baby I had to entice her with pretty pink walls. We eventually did the pink walls but buried beneath them is a layer of camouflage walls I did back in 2009.
Here’s the weekend project I did while my son wa away at golf camp one summer.
All I did was go off the pattern on the camouflage sheets from PB Teen. I lightly sketched with a pencil the freeform shapes and then filled in using 4 different colors. To get a good match I took a pillow case in to Lowes and had them create 4 qts. of custom color. Base and other walls has Sandcastle by Dunn Edwards on it.
Eventually this room became my daughters room.
Here makeover was easy, when asked what color she wanted wanted (knowing full well that the paint was already purchased) she said “PINK…everywhere mommy.” I knew four pink walls would put me over the edge, So we settled on ONE wall in Benjamin Moore Natura Paradise Pink. That was a pink we could BOTH live with.
