Last weekend a couple girlfriends and I left the OC and headed to La-La-Land to see the LIVE Glee Tour in Hollywood. If you have a chance and you are in NY this weekend DO NOT miss this show! The entire student body cast was there Cheerios and all, almost all of them had some sort of solo vignette showcasing their amazing talent.
I don’t expect them to be as vocally strong as they were in real life, especially moving around dancing and jumping as much as they did. They preformed all of the favorite numbers from the show from Van Halens’ JUMP to Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance (featured on last nights episode) — it was amazing LIVE!
We had great seats thanks to my friend Kathleen (a huge theater and Glee aficionado) and I have to admit as much as I thought it would not rank up there with front row tickets to Duran Duran or Foo Fighters I walked away from that show absolutely floored at the raw talent of these kids.

The opening act was mesmerizing. I had heard such good things about the group LXD (Legends of Extraordinary Dancers). If you watched the Oscars this year you saw them perform the montage of the nominees for best score. Check out the video below amazing… can you imagine the difficulty of interpreting a movie like the Hurt Locker? Seriously give them a watch… check out 3 minutes into it (Up the movie –features LXD member Harry Shum Jr. who plays Mike on Glee) oh how I wanted to be one of them as a kid.
The show started with Cheerios passing out McKinley High insignia Barf Bags courtesy of Coach Sue Sylvester with her taped video segment to the audience promising that “you will be barfing“.
We saw these shirts – I MUST have one:
We stayed at the new W Hotel in West Hollywood and indulged in room service, baskets of fresh pastries, Bliss Spa treatments and of course their Whatever/Whenever® service. Oh and we took a couple hundred photos too. Check it out here.
Kathleen and I took a ton of photos this evening (she had a great artistic eye – I love her stuff). Rock on Gleeks! Click on any image to enlarge.
