This was my 4th booth camp in the last 12 months. Almost a year ago, right after clicking the “PUBLISH” button on my first post I bought myself a plane ticket to Phoenix and registered for my first Bloggy Boot Camp. It took me two posts to explain in painstaking detail what these boot camps were all about. I covered the speakers, the topics and all new friends I had made in a matter of 24 hours, you see I didn’t know you weren’t supposed to high tail it back to the airport as soon as the conference ended and I missed what looked like an impromptu pool party, boo! I hate missing a good party.
Now I can call myself a seasoned veteran after attending 3 of these including San Francisco and Austin and even though I didn’t have to travel more than a few hours by car I penciled myself in for a long weekend with my SITS friends. I threw my boots a sweater and my jeans into a suitcase, grabbed my camera bag along with a bottle of bub, it was a girls trip after all. Next stop the house of Sugar n’ Spice to pick up Kathleen, wave hi to her beagle brigade and grab one more cold bottle of champagne from her spare fridge.
The low key vibe of the Bahia was not lost on us. It was all we could do to not doze off while we watched Kathleen advance in her March Madness brackets over a glass of Vueve.
We made ourselves get up eventually and walk along Mission Bay. One of my favorite things to do when I travel is wander with my camera, this place had everything you want from reflective waters to peach colored art deco color walls.
I got to take photos of everyone as they entered the cocktail party that night including some of my favorite SD tweeps @rockonmommies (first iPad envy now I want her shoes), @mommylovescoffee (yep, I checked her ID I can confirm she is older than 21 but not by much) @hipmamab (we mutually agree that aliens in fact DO exist), @mamamaryshow (we both dig liquid metal jewelry and Duran Duran), smart as a whip @oomph and fellow SoCal Smartly writer @fashorganized.
Next stop is Boston in May! Who’s gonna come have a lobstah with me?
