My head is swimming with ideas this week. If I could have my way I would write about every single one of them and cram them all into ONE post. Yes I realize I would be probably 1000 word+ post and half of you would head running for the hills but I can’t help but think how incredibly FREEING it would be. Like a release. A mental purge.
Sometimes I get so many ideas at one time I start to short out, my creativity slows to a crawl and I start losing my focus or worse I let others start to influence my work. My camera starts accumulating dust. Heap on top of that deadlines, a leaning stack of bills, dirty dishes piled in the sink, and one rebellious teenager and what you have now is the perfect storm. Watch out because heads will roll and credit cards will be maxed out.

In my attempt to freshen up my blog I’ve given a lot of thought as to what I want to focus on here. I feel like last year my blog was a catch-all, whatever the wind blew my way I seemed to happily follow it. Some days it was chocolate fudge sauce other days it was whining about clutter. ADD can cause the content on my blog to seem spontaneous to the unsuspecting reader but on my end, in reality, it’s maddening and some days I just give up when the creative monkeys get the best of me.
Coming off a cleanse has had its ups and downs. It was harder than I thought to just resume eating like I normally do. There is nothing normal about not eating for 5 days. And part of the whole reason I did the cleanse was to stop the caffeine and carb addiction that had become ‘normal’. I know that replacing my regular 6-8 shots of espresso with green tea is helping me keep an even keel with this ship. I don’t crash and burn at 5pm nor do I sit here and blog until 2 o’clock in the morning (but I will dance until 2 am at a Prince concert). I am hoping that taking better care of myself physically will have its payoffs mentally. Clear thinking makes for better decisions and better decisions lead me to better time management which ultimately means more time just where I want to be here with you.
What’s on my mind you ask? Hmmm well let’s see there’s my trip back to see Prince, my almost run in with Dave Grohl, making the Popular page, my new juicer, my new fav read the Art of iPhoneography, preparing for my first speaking gig at Bloggy Boot Camp, buying MORE Bobbi Brown makeup and making big pans of love aka lasagna.
Aren’t you glad you asked? I am …. mini purge… thanks I feel so much better already.
