When I put on a dress people laugh. Ok, my kids laugh, namely the 5 year old. You’d think I just put on a round red nose and big floppy shoes at the hysterics I cause. The men in the house ALWAYS notice. “Well, don’t you look nice.” PEOPLE its a cotton maxi dress from Target, it costs less than a new video game. There is just something about a dress. As I got ready this morning I had a combination in mind, I wanted to try mixing a maxi dress with my denim jacket, I read about the trend on the FB page of Style2020, after all celebs are doing it so I figured what the heck. My denim jacket hasn’t seen much action and honestly neither has my dress collection or lack thereof. The outfit took all of 5 minutes to put together, I’m already liking it, trendy or not. The only thing new here was the yellow necklace, a recent find in the BP (aka budget pleasing) department at Nordstrom. Here it is, I think I was channeling a male model from 1976 here. Snort. Funny thing is later as I stood in line at the post office this afternoon I saw a denim jacket out of the corner of my eye, I looked down, sure enough long flowing maxi dress FTW (for the win). I just had to say something or I was going to burst, “Well the two of us can’t be wrong, right?” She said she just read about the trend and dusted off her 1985 denim jacket. Love it. I may even try another dress tomorrow, I may even wear one next week, all week because after all they are comfy and its summer and they are stylish. Its official I am going to go clean out my closet and see what other dresses I can unearth. Stop by tomorrow because I’m have a new GIVEAWAY from the line of necklaces at 31bits – I love their Summer line of pastel necklaces and bracelets, they pair perfectly with the denim/maxi dress look.
