A Week In The Life – Day One

Day One

This is a new project for me and it makes me so happy. Its introspective, it’s creative and its all about discovering something new or reaffirming what you already knew and its about sharing those discoveries.  Ali Edwards has been hosting Week In The Life Project annually for a few years now and this time I’m not watching from the sidelines.

Each day I photograph and journal my existence and collect those images and thoughts here on my blog so you can take a peak into my life and how I manage all the circus animals under my big tent. People often ask me how I do it all and I don’t really know how to answer that. I think the answer or answers will reveal themselves as my life is exposed in a weeks worth of photographs. So what do you say? Do you want to see the not so pretty stuff? Yeah, I thought you would.

Yesterday was Monday, I did something I don’t really like to do I handed over the remote to my daughter and I sat here on he computer editing wedding photos. Its almost done and its like a monkey on my back, only because I hate loose ends I really seem to work on too many projects all at once never quite finishing any of them on time. I struggle with this. I also spent a good part of the day working on my blog.

My son and husband drove in from a weekend away and the teenager and I had some words. Parents of teens you know my plight. Sometimes those words turn into tears and sometimes that pain and teenage angst lead to sudden urges to sleep.

I cried a little when I discovered him still clutching his bear, Bottee. The jury is still out on how you spell its name. Pronounced (Baugh-tee).

Ironically I had my highest traffic day the same day I decided it would be a good thing for me to install a little source code into my blog style sheet, by myself which (whoops) broke the page on my blog and rendered my comment section obsolete.  But with the help of stumble queen Angry Julie and the IT wizard Tech4mommies I was fixed and everything was back up and I continued to work into the wee hours.

I see the light on at the end of the hall, I poke my head into my son’s room, its after midnight, this is what happens when they sleep from 6 to 9pm.

He is not happy I’m photographing him and he’s hungry, deadly combination.

She’s fixated on a daddy long legs on the ceiling, compelled she finally catches it.

reheating dinner or should I say the 5yr olds dinner. At 14 the kid still loves his pasta and butter.

I join him.

The 5 yr. old has since gone to bed hours ago.

Boy decides pasta wasn’t enough so he has Cheerios and shares.

I’m tired its almost one and sitting all day has made my feet swell up like a pregnant lady. My skin hurts they are that swollen and now itchy. I would love to write and edit all night but my body hurts.
