Wow, the dust seems to be settling in thick layers over here. Its my bad, no wait its the kids’ bad, yes that’s right I blame the kids. Actually I blame the school, it should be year round. Who’s with me?
Last year in July I didn’t post much either, aside from a few photos from Picture Summer but I don’ think it was for quite the same reasons. I’m pretty sure I was numbing myself with newly found skinny margaritas, hoping the IRS -audit-thingy would just quietly disappear. I’ll have you know that we just sent in our final revision. It was literally a 12 month ordeal. Which is behind us all, or at least for another five years. Moving on.
I’m not around these parts much this week because I am in the middle of editing a huge wedding shoot, my first actually. Wheeee! Total images 1200. Yes, twelve zero zero and yes it is tedious and my kids are cranky and I’m finding less time to do much of anything else but it has been extremely gratifying to see that I managed to pull off a few images I can be proud of and use for my new website (yes I am overhauling my current photo site as in starting from scratch… in my spare time). In a week or so I
hope to will relaunch my photography website business with a little help from the people at showit. My goal here is a more focused approach carefully culling my photographs something I have never really put much effort into because lets face it the last 12 months of my life can be summarized in one word = blur.
In the meantime you can follow my every step (literally I take photos everyday) on instagram (iphone photo sharing crack laced app) and if you don’t have an iPhone (its ok but seriously you are missing out on some crazy fun) you can follow on these online sites: gramfeed, instagre.at, instadeck (I like), web.stagram or iPhone apps: instamap and instagallery.
Here is a snapshot of gramfeed — come watch me and my IG pals @Dirka, @inthethicket and @Ksugarandspice spar in the great #blimphanger_challenge. Its is a real hashtagged challenge so if you are a local you should join in. Kathleen currently holds the title, she actually drove on the base through open gates where she was practically welcomed into one of these massive blimp hangers. Click to enlarge below.
I just tried instaearth today- this site has a ton of features and lets me browse photos that are in my area. You can click to enlarge. I found my photo from last week at COX Studios. Oh that reminds me, tonight the episode I taped for local cable access show, The Forum airs at 7pm, I will try to get a link for the rest of you so you can watch. I was there to talk about my experience photographing the CHOC NICU <— watch when the show’s host Terry asks me what NICU means…. dear in the head lights! LOL! I mean I know what it stands for but at that moments I folded like a cheap suit. It was fun and another story for another day.
