Its the end of one project and the beginning of another. Today I joined a very special group of women photographers who carved out a very special space called Mortal Muses. I first met the founder of Mortal Muses, Tammy Lee Bradley in 2010 when I enrolled in Picture Summer. You may remember I had a little guest muse earlier this year about what inspires me. Well the bigger news is that Tammy is now an official Shutter Sisters (happy dance) and I am excited to say I am part of the next wave of as a regular muse.
Today its about black and white and the talented muse Kirstin McGee has chosen my bike photo for my debut.
Lately I have been taking more black and white photographs, I should say editing into black and white. I liked Kristin’s reflection about the timelessness of the black and white. My first photography classes in high school had us developing our own black and whites and I was so frustrated because I wanted color so badly but with film it was cost prohibited. Amazing how things have evolved so quickly.
I hope you’ll come over and visit me every once in a while or join the flickr pool. Make sure you peek at Kirstin’s work on tumblr: fleetingmoments, she makes me wanna be a better photographer. The end.
hooray! welcome to mortal muses lindsey, i can’t wait to get you started on your musing with us. i love your post here– i had a flashback of my own photography class in high school as i read your words. i used to love getting in that darkroom. have a great day!

I am so excited for you to be musing with us – loving the black and whites. I know what you mean, I see in color but black and whites have this timelessness about them.

Congratulations! Looking forward to seeing your work over at Mortal Muses. I don’t tend to do a lot of black and white but you’ve inspired me to try some soon.
I was happy to see an Instagram friend at Mortal Muses! Your photos will be inspiring me here there and everywhere! Yay!!
Yay! welcome to the Muses! Can’t wait to see you there.
