I have spent half the morning web surfing and general procrastinating. How do you wrap up an entire year? I can’t even begin to think of going through my catalog of photos and plucking out a few favorite. They are all my favorites. Same thing goes for my iphone photos. I entered one in a few mobile photography contests, I call this raindrops and palm trees sung to the tune of My Favorite Things.
The addition of the iPhone and Instagram were probably THE MOST life changing/enriching/enhancing things of 2011. Even the addition of my 50mm prime lens was trumped by the dynamic iphone/instagram duo. I have made about 200 new connections with other photographers in my pocket world, about 50 of them I communicate with on a regular basis now. Photographers that inspire and push me to reach further and get out of my head and into the picture.
I have been in Instagram since February of this year and have been participating in InstaFriday for almost 6 months. I think this will be my last installment of InstaFriday though. It’s time for new projects and fresh ideas in 2012. So instead of recapping the week I am going to recap the ENTIRE YEAR.
Looking back I am amazed and not surprised at much my photos have evolved in 11 months. We started with a lot of this…
and ended up with more like this…
Here is the my entire 2011 instagram collection condensed down to 1:48 seconds. (thanks to my IG friend Dirka for introducing it to me). I set it to very fast as in don’t-try-to-focus-just-let-the-photos-float-by kind of fast. You can make your own free at pummelvison.com
