What did you accomplish?
So what did I accomplish this past year. I think the problem here is that I didn’t write down a list of things I wanted to do. I sort of let everything just happen which can be an exciting way to live but that doesn’t mean there weren’t any casualties either.
I wanted to travel and attend a few blog conferences including speaking at one which I did. I created my first presentation and talked to group of bloggers in Boston about transforming your blog from meh to marvelous with photography. I uploaded the handout if you want to see what we talked about. That was the first time I have used PowerPoint in ages. There is so much you can do nowadays with that program including embedding your own video, I made a short one about How To Create A Blog Button. <– you’ll hear me try to wing an instructional video, an accomplishment of sorts I guess.
I also set out this year to focus in on what I wanted to shoot for my photography business and tried a bit of everything.
There were weddings, mock and a real one.
There were the babies, kids birthday parties and Christmas card shots, none of which really set off any internal alarms that said you must do more of THIS.
Along came the accidental concert shoot. Now THIS excites me.
Mariachi El Bronx
Hands down the most unglamorous jobs I have had but one of the most gratifying.
And then of course I have my food..
A year of shooting over 50,000 images I still don’t know that I have any better direction than I had a year ago. I guess I know what I don’t like to shoot and that accomplishes something.
