How do you relax?
Relax? Wha? I ask myself this now 2 days before Christmas? Ha! Someone needs to take over this prompt writing thing, clearly its not my thing.
I think the last time I relaxed was in hmmmm 1995 or maybe it was 94′. I met my then fiance in Hawaii. He was living in Japan and that was halfway. We didn’t have any mortgages, offspring, college funds, or debt and life was good. I used to read back then. There was no facebook, twitter or instagram. I also took film photographs, which meant I took maybe 72 photos and when I got home I got them developed and printed and they went straight to an album no editing no storing and then backing up and then making a back up of the back up.
Life was simpler then and definitely more relaxing.
Tonight I will take deep breaths maybe have a glass of wine, otherwise I’ll become a histamine mess and that’s not relaxing. I will make my pastry dough for the Pear Crostata I am bringing to Christmas Eve dinner, that will definitely relax me. I’ll remind myself all the wrapping is done, that will relax me too. Then I will cruise instagram later and see what my pocket world is up to. I may read a little or (maybe) work on the reverb prompts so I can take a few days off from the blog (I hope you will go offline too its good to go offline.) Celebrating with my family begins tomorrow with Christmas Eve and rolls right into the big day. Lots of time to juts sit back and watch the kids burn it from both ends until they collapse from sheer exhaustion. Should be fun.
How do you celebrate and how do you relax during this crazy time of year?
