Last Sunday was worldwide INSTAMEET day where instagrammers from around the world met locally to capture and share their corner of the globe. Not familiar with Instagram? Instagram is a photo sharing app for your phone. (update:: just announced Android users will soon get Instagram <— CLICK on article and check out slide #12 in the gallery do you recognize her? ) Instagram has a handful of powerful editing tools, including filters and frames to beautify your most beloved subjects. Its quite addicting.
I decided to organize our own instameet at the Orange County Great Park, one of my favorite places to shoot. The great park once home to the Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, was slated to become the next international airport after its closure in 1999. Vehemently opposed residents made sure that didn’t happen and passed Measure M voting against an airport. Ten years later Phase One of the proposed Great Park is almost complete. When finished The park will span across 1,300 acres (nearly twice the size of New York’s Central Park).
The Great Park offers some great instagram opportunities. Here are some of our shots from that day:
