I have recently rediscovered a favorite dip, Trader Joe’s Chunky Lentil Dip and realized I never shared the recipe here on the blog. Oh the back log of recipes I have for you, let’s eat our way through summer shall we? This one is great, low cal easy to make and great for picnics or parties. Again another winner passed along from my sister Leslie, you need to check out her Skinny Margarita recipe (we drink it year round). I’m not sure the origin of this recipe it may be from a Trader Joe’s Cookbook. If you are not familiar with Trader Joe’s well I feel badly for you, everyone needs one of these stores in their neighborhood, you can’t beat the prices and they just seem to know and stock just the right amount of product on their shelves.
For this recipe all you really need is 3 things and a lemon and you make it in less than 10 minutes. I’m not sure if the recipe called for lemon but I added it and it was gooooooood (said in my best Bruce Almighty voice.)

very nice blog with perfect theme! i love your blog.
Thanks for the recipe–very nice! I presume that’s supposed to be a half teaspoon of lemon juice?
Yes, oh boy, thanks for letting me know 😀
Is a serving really 2 cups? Or is it more like 2 Tbsp? Thanks!
The entire recipe makes 2 cups. ☺
2 TBSP is considered a serving size for dips (FDA RACC).https://www.fda.gov/downloads/food/guidanceregulation/guidancedocumentsregulatoryinformation/labelingnutrition/ucm513820.pdf
thank you I will update it!
Actually, it’s asking how many servings the entire recipe makes. For this type of dip/salad, the serving size would be larger due to the low calorie ingredients (it’s mostly veggies, not mayo, sour cream, or cream cheese like many dips). The trader joe’s original recipe makes about 4 cups and says that it makes 6 servings, so that would be about 2/3 cup. Thanks for posting this. It’s always a big hit at parties.
I finally got around to updating the serving size. Thank you for clarifying.
What type of chips are these?
Pretty sure they are Multigrain Tortilla Chips by Food Should Taste Good.
Looks like they have changed the shape from triangle to hexagon.
