I just looked at my library in Lightroom (my photo editing software) and there are no photos from last week. So here I am, a week where I really haven’t been shooting much. I have two rolls, half exposed, in the Mamiya, but I’m getting stingy with my shooting (spending) coming off a big month of buying stuff. Also, a tire warning light just came on and that means more spending is on its way, plus we are filing 5 college apps on Monday,$420 *poof* *gone*. Parents of high school seniors can you feel me? Its funny when I start seeing my bills creep up I don’t think about how can I reduce spending, rather how can I generate more money, hence I spend my weekend restocking the ol’ ETSY store. With that came the reintroduction to a couple programs I used once upon a time, Photoshop and Illustrator. Adobe now offers these programs via online app which is kinda cool, that means I can log out jump on another computer in another location and jump in where I left off on my file. You can try the full programs for 30 days too. I have to thank my sister who got me hooked on Illustrator eons ago. I had forgotten how much I love to work in that program. I created some cool stuff like calendars and notecards I will share soon.
Election Day
Tuesday was election day here in the states. I am so proud and thankful to be in a country that allows us to choose. To those who complained about seeing all the “I voted” status updates, may I suggest Canada?
The rest of the week was pretty much status quo. Work, commute, make dinner wash rinse repeat. I spent too much time holed up in my home office and it shows (I’m looking at you blogger butt) My acupuncturist has been on me about the exercise thing, which makes me believe that something has to go. I just don’t know what I am willing to give up. Facebook? Instagram? Blogging? Those are all frivolous things I get it. Maybe not the blogging but the faffing around with my site is. Did you notice I moved things around, added a header changed the font. I loved every creative minute but paid the price for the long hours in front of this EMF mother effer monitor, not to mention the dual band wireless router that I sit on top of. I know I know I HAVE to remove myself from this set up, even my acupuncturist was like … yeah THAT may be a huge part of the problem. So I plan to move my computer into my daughters room because she doesn’t spend a hot minute in that cute little room of hers. (router stays put and all electronic things are getting powered down at night.)

Spent hours on the computer over the weekend. I learned how to crop that guy out of a sunset shot and turn it into a calendar.
I discovered My Social Book and then fell down that rabbit hole printing up my entire history on FB 2009-2013. yeah I did. They were offering 20% off and free shipping. I will share the books when they come next week. **UPDATED click here .. for REVIEW AND 30% OFF COUPON CODE.
I hiked and in other news hell froze over.
Yes I went outside and I hiked (a little bit) nothing huge, just got up out of my chair and moved. Super A is my motivator she literally grabs my arm pulling (prying) me away from this desk and says lets g-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o.
and to think this is in my own back yard and has been for the last oh uhhh 15 years. (click to go full screen)
Little victories, we, I mean Super B got our his first college acceptance email.
That’s right email. How anticlimactic you say? I agree. I was hoping to reenact one of those movie scenes where the kid runs to the mailbox to find the letter and opens it ever so slowly.
We did get something in the mail on Saturday.
This next week is a busy one, I get that crown we started last week, Weebee turns 12, field trips, movie premiere, wedding shoot prep and its a short week for school (two days of it my kids are home.) Yikes. Guess I should savor these days with the oldest. Its coming people, its coming.
