I wanted to make the effort today to come by the old blog and wish this space a happy blogiversary! It was just about this time, late Monday night, my hands were anxious to hit the big red PUBLISH button and officially break ground on this project. I worked long and hard to set up space that felt cozy and familiar, a space that reflected my tastes, eclectic as they may be. It needed to be loaded with pretty to distract from the fact that I had nothing really to say and sometime help soften the edges on the days I didn’t mince words.
I’ve see the mojo of writing come and go over the past few years. When I wrote my first post ‘Hello World‘ I had no clue what I was going to write about, I still don’t most days. I figured something interesting would happen during the week or worst case scenario I could cook something from the latest issue of Bon Appetit. Pinterest wasn’t a thing yet, they had just launched an invitation only beta site. Do you know how many active users are on Pinterest six short years later?
Now we barely remember a world before Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest.
So what now? Uhhhhhhhh .. still not sure.
I can’t promise that this place will once return to the hub of business that it once was but I can promise you this..
- I will continue to take photos under the philosophy that more isn’t necessary better, that quality trumps quantity every time.
- I’m perfectly happy with the place that I am in today including this blog and the small ripples it creates along the fabric of space time.
- I’ll try my best to keep up the practice of writing and honor the creative muse by showing up each morning pen and paper in hand for those few moments when everything seems possible.
- I’ll try not to worry about getting lost in the noise and trust that those who are meant to read these word will find these words (at just the perfect time for them.)
But just out of curiosity I found a place where you can check in and see how many blog posts were published today when I checked at 9:30 tonight we were at 3.8 million and by the time I finally hit the red button it was at 4,145,176 soon to be 4,145,177.
