Gather your ingredients, wash and trim, removing stem of romaine, peel citrus, slice apples in half you can leave the skin and core.
Start with an ingredient with a softer consistence or higher water content, this prepares the juicer for optimal extraction. I usually start with the apples.
Transfer the apple juice to another container and clean out basin as needed.
Add cucumber, lettuces, spinach and lemon, transfer juice to larger container, dump waste as needed. You can also save the vegetable waste and add to breads or soups, be careful to remove apple stems if you do.
Add ginger and celery. Ginger adds spiciness to the drink and soothes a queasy tummy. The ginger will leave chunks in the juicer, that's ok.
Blend all the juices together, I usually add apple to the batch and adjust for sweetness.
When I am in serious detox mode I will drink up to 4 glasses a day and eat light foods like veggie soup and hummus/raw vegetables. Be prepared to make frequent bathroom breaks - cucumber is an EXCELLENT diuretic!
